Fridge Stopped Cooling? We Can Help!

Once the compressor stops, you’ve got roughly four hours before food in the fridge section starts entering the danger zone, less in July. That’s why we treat fridge repair in Edmonton as a same-day job, not a “sometime this week” appointment.

We’ve spent over 15 years inside refrigerators across the city, from 25-year-old Kenmores in Mill Woods bungalows to counter-depth Sub-Zeros in Windermere. Nine times out of ten, the fault is one of a handful of parts. An evaporator fan, a defrost thermostat, a start relay, and we carry the common ones on the truck, so the first visit is usually the only visit.
We also handle dryer, washer, and oven repair across Edmonton and Spruce Grove.

Common Refrigerator Problems We Fix

  • Fridge warm, freezer fine: Usually a failed evaporator fan or an iced-up damper stopping cold air from reaching the fresh-food section. A repair, not a replacement.
  • Frost building up in the freezer: Points to the defrost system, including the heater, thermostat, or control board. Left alone, it eventually blocks airflow and warms the whole unit.
  • Water pooling under the crispers or on the floor: Nine times out of ten, it's a plugged defrost drain, a ten-minute fix once the back panel is off.
  • Clicking every few minutes, fridge not cooling: Classic start relay failure. The compressor is trying to start and can't. Caught early, this is one of the cheapest repairs we do.
  • Garage fridge quit over winter: Below about 10°C, a standard fridge's thermostat thinks it's done working. Edmonton garages hit −30°C; we can tell you whether a heater kit will fix it or whether the unit isn't garage-rated at all.

Whatever the symptom, our techs handle fridge repair in Edmonton for every major brand, including Samsung, LG, Whirlpool, GE, Bosch, Frigidaire, KitchenAid, and more. Call us now to get your fridge running smoothly again!

What Does Fridge Repair in Edmonton Cost?

The honest answer is that it depends on which part failed, and you’ll know before we start. Most fan motor, thermostat, relay, and drain repairs land in the $150–$350 range, parts and labor included. Sealed-system work on compressors, refrigerant leaks runs higher, and on an older builder-grade fridge, we’ll tell you straight when replacement makes more sense than repair. Our rule of thumb is if the fix costs more than half the price of a comparable new unit and the fridge is past 10 years old, put the money toward new.

Two things keep your bill predictable. The diagnostic fee is applied to the repair, and you approve a written quote before any work begins. Call before 5 PM and take $25 off your fridge repair in Edmonton.

What our Customers are saying

Client Testimonials

I highly recommend this company. I called them with an emergency fridge repair and a very tight timeline. They fit me in, kept me up to date on arrival time, and diagnosed the problem quickly. The technician is very skilled, knowledgeable and professional. He showed me the issue, explained the technical aspects to me and repaired it quickly. Probably the best appliance repair experience I have had.

Frequently Asked Question?

My freezer works but the fridge section is warm. Is that serious?
It’s the most common call we get, and it’s usually good news. Cold air is being made; it’s just not reaching the fresh-food section. The culprit is typically the evaporator fan, the air damper, or frost blocking the vents from a failed defrost part. All are standard single-visit repairs, far cheaper than the compressor problem people fear.
Keep the doors shut. An unopened fridge holds safe temperatures for about 4 hours; a full freezer holds for roughly 48 hours (24 if half-full). If we can get to you same-day, and we usually can before 5 PM, most food is saveable. Move milk, meat, and leftovers to a cooler with ice if the repair has to wait overnight.
Sometimes. On a high-end unit (Sub-Zero, Miele, newer Bosch) under 8 years old, yes, the math works. On a 12-year-old entry-level fridge, almost never, and we’ll say so on the spot rather than sell you a repair you shouldn’t buy. Many failures that feel like a dead compressor are actually a $30 start relay, which is why a proper diagnosis comes first.
Low water flow, most often. Edmonton’s moderately hard water scales up inlet valves and overdue filters, so the tray only part-fills and cubes fuse together. A new valve or filter usually restores it; if the ice maker module itself has failed, we replace it as a unit.
Not reliably. Once your garage drops below about 10°C, the thermostat stops calling for cooling and the freezer thaws, long before the −30°C stretches in January. Some models accept a garage heater kit; others simply aren’t rated for it. Tell us the model, and we’ll give you a straight answer before you buy parts.
Our trucks stock the high-failure parts like fan motors, relays, defrost components, water valves for the brands Edmonton homes actually have. That’s why most repairs finish on the first visit. If your model needs a special-order board, we’ll tell you the timeline up front, and the diagnostic fee still rolls into the repair.
