Not Drying Properly? You Need Expert Dryer Repair Technicians

It starts small. One load needs a second cycle. Then every load does. A month later, towels take two hours, and the laundry room smells hot. Most people blame the machine. After 15 years of dryer repair in Edmonton, we can tell you it’s a coin flip. Half the time, the dryer is fine. The vent behind it is choked.
That difference matters because the fixes cost different amounts of money. So we check both on every visit. If it’s a heating element or a thermostat, we replace it on the spot. If it’s the vent, we tell you that instead of selling you a part you don’t need.
We work on every major brand. Samsung, LG, Whirlpool, Maytag, GE, Bosch, Electrolux, Kenmore, Speed Queen. And if the washer beside it is acting up too, one visit covers both. We also handle fridge, oven, and dishwasher repair across Edmonton and Spruce Grove.

Dryer Fault or Blocked Vent? Winter Here Blurs the Line

Here’s our rule. If the fault is inside the machine, we fix it under our standard dryer repair in Edmonton service, parts, and labor warrantied. If the vent is the issue, we clear what’s reachable at the machine and tell you plainly whether the full run needs a duct cleaning. No guessing, no double-billing. Booking a yearly maintenance visit before winter catches most of this early.

Two Things to Check Before You Spend a Dime

We'd rather earn your call than trick you into one. So try these first.

Check the breaker, both halves. Electric dryers run on a double 240V breaker. One leg can trip while the other holds. The drum spins, the heat dies, and the dryer looks half-broken. Flip the breaker fully off, then on. If heat returns, you just saved a service call. If it trips again, stop and call us. Something is drawing too much current.
Wash the lint screen, don’t just clear it. Dryer sheets leave an invisible film on the mesh. Air can’t pass through it. Scrub the screen with warm water and dish soap, let it dry, and run a load. While you’re back there, step outside and watch the vent hood mid-cycle. The flap should be open with strong, warm airflow. Weak flow means a blocked run, and that’s worth mentioning when you book.
Still no heat? Still slow? Then it’s a real fault. Element, thermal fuse, sensor, or motor. Call before 5 PM, take $25 off, and the diagnostic fee rolls into the dryer repair in Edmonton.

Frequently Asked Question?

My dryer spins, but there's zero heat. What usually causes that?
On electric models, three suspects cover most calls. A half-tripped breaker, a blown thermal fuse, or a burned-out element. On gas models, it’s usually the igniter or a gas valve coil. The good news: none of these are expensive repairs, and all are single-visit fixes with parts we stock. The thermal fuse deserves respect, though. It blows for a reason, usually poor airflow, so we check the venting before we button it up.
No. Stop the cycle, unplug the machine, and leave the door open so the load cools. A burning smell can be as minor as lint on the element or as serious as a seized motor or lint smoldering in the duct. It isn’t a “finish this load” situation. Tell us about the smell when you call, and we’ll prioritize the visit.
Yes, and sooner dryer repair in Edmonton is cheaper. That cold-start screech is almost always worn drum rollers or an idler pulley. Cheap parts. Ignore it long enough, and the belt wears unevenly, the drum starts riding low, and a $20 roller becomes a bigger job. It won’t heal itself. It never does.
Once a year for most households, fall is the smart time, before the freeze-up season. Big families, pet owners, and homes with long basement vent runs should think harder about it. A clean vent isn’t just about fire risk. It noticeably reduces drying times, which most people mistake for the dryer “working better.”
We do. Condenser and heat pump models are common now in Edmonton condos without exterior venting. They fail differently. Clogged condensers, full water pumps, and dirty evaporator coils instead of vent problems. The heat is gentler by design, so don’t panic if it never feels oven-hot inside. If cycles have stretched past two hours, though, that’s a real symptom worth a call.

First, check the lint trap and make sure it’s clean after every load. Lint buildup can block airflow and cause the dryer to overheat. Second, regularly clean the vent hose or duct that leads outside. It’s recommended to do this at least once a year. Third, don’t overload the dryer with too many clothes, as this puts extra strain on the machine and can lead to mechanical issues.

Regular maintenance is key in preventing costly repairs later on. If you notice any strange noises or performance issues with your dryer, it’s best to call a professional for a thorough inspection and potential repairs.
